I was chatting with my girlfriend one day at lunch while on vacation and we were talking about the many hats that we as women wear. She is at a place in her life where she totally wants her world to consist of just the hubby, the children and herself. I told her that I didn't think this was healthy and that it was important for we as women to have 4 types of relationships in our lives. I explained to her that even though we have many relationships to manage sometimes we forget how to put them into perspective. So let me share with you how this works for me. I believe that women need to have four things in our lives to make the wheels of sanity turn in a positive direction.
First we need “ME TIME”- this is time alone with me, myself and I! It is the time that I spend doing whatever it is that I want i.e. shopping, reading, a hobby that I love, staring into space collecting my thoughts, and getting myself together to deal with whatever should arise in my life. This is one of the four aspects that we sometimes neglect because we are focused on everything else going on around us. You see ladies if we don’t spend time alone then we can’t function properly in all of the other aspects of our lives. The pieces to the puzzle of life don’t fit properly and then we begin to force it all together which will lead to DISASTER (singing that word so you get the meaning-LOL).
Second we need “HUBBY TIME” -time with your spouse is always important, so that you can build and maintain a strong marriage. There are so many ways to get that QT in with the man you love so much. Sometimes it’s good to just sit and have a cup of coffee and chat while the kids are still sleep early in the morning. Always plan to have a vacation with just you and your spouse- no work, no kids, and no friends. Try it- you will see that it is so important to help sustain a healthy relationship.
Third we need “CHILDREN TIME”- yes we as women need to spend time with our children to bond and keep the lines of communication open with them. They may be young or teenagers but they have things going on in their lives that require our attention. We need to know what’s going on with them at school and inside their circle of friends. Don’t be afraid to engage them in conversation and show them that you are their biggest fan and bestest friend. Make them feel that they can come to you about anything that is going on in their lives. This is an important aspect of being a good parent!
Last but not least we need “GIRLFRIEND TIME”- yes ladies you need that special group of “girlfriends” that you can go to when go shopping with, vacation with, chat about things that only they can relate to with. It is so important to have friends that are on your level, who may be able to enlighten you about certain life situations. Sometimes we find ourselves scared to let our guards down but you will never know if you don’t share-sometimes that best friend may have already encountered that life situation that you are struggling with at that very moment. Besides it feels good to have the company of those you trust the most when you are going insane. Believe me it happens much more than we think.
Ok so that sums it up for me- this is how I keep it all in perspective and it works so well for me. I hope that my thoughts help you in some way and that your time here today with me has been a blessing to you in some form or fashion. Be Blessed~

I "HEART" Family
Family is such an important part of my world. I love being afforded the quality time to spend with my family. When we are together we always laugh and have such a wonderful time together. The holidays always remind me that I am so blessed to have two lovely daughters and a wonderful husband. Take time to tell those around you how much you love them. Don't forget, at the end of the day FAMILY is all we have- they will always be there for you!! Be Blessed my Peeps!!

New Years Resolutions AKA-GOALS
I want to wish you all Happy Holidays and a Blessed New Years!!
Every year we find ourselves making new years resolutions that we seldom keep. We make a list of all of the things we want to do lose weight, eat right, exercise, start a journal, get rid of people that we call friends that really are not. The list could go on and on and on...... Perhaps in 2012 you can strive to revisit somethings in and about your life and write down goals that you can work on attaining. Be it big or small every goal is important.
